PALLONE WANTS DEBATES
Apparently, Rep. Frank Pallone didn't get the memo that the U.S. Senate race would be won by Newark Mayor Cory Booker in a cakewalk.
Pallone has challenged Booker to a series of multiple debates, a call then echoed by fellow Senate candidate Rep. Rush Holt. With Booker ahead in every poll, Pallone knows that the only way he can win is if he knocks Booken down a few pegs in the eyes of voters. So he's undoubtedly hoping these debates, and his advertising, will give him a chance to raise questions about Booker's record in Newark, and highlight his own accomplishments. It may be a long shot, but what with the governor's race all but turning into a coronation, the Democratic Senate battle may well turn into the only political race in town.
