Did John Adler really have any other choice?
Adler, the freshman Democrat who represents what had been a reliably red 3rd District, announced he's voting against the health care reform bill.
His vote is just the latest fallout from Chris Christie's victory on Tuesday. Adler, who won his seat in a close race, 51.7% to 48.3%, can read the tea leaves like anyone else.
Ocean County went Republican with a 70,000-vote margin. Burlington went Republican. And let's not forget, some 3,000 people came out on a rainy Friday night in Toms River and rallied against health care reform, the night before the Sept. 12 tea party in Wasington.
Something tells us George Gilmore is already working on his short list ...
